Claude Monet | Freebie
Bonjour friends,
It’s been awhile! Hope to post more often here, I have a helpful stationery post coming out soon, but until then I’ve got a beautiful freebie for you.
One of my favorite impressionist painters is Claude Monet. His use of colors and stroke textures is incredibly inspiring to me. To add a bit of beauty in my home, I periodically customize my television screensaver to be a classic art piece, and for spring I decided to use a painting by Monet called, “Poppy Fields near Argenteuil”. I’ve also taken this customization further and used it as my desktop image. Please disregard the post-assembly glue on my desk. Those pesky adhesive spots take a bit to get out—fellow stationers can relate.
Here is an excerpt describing this painting: “This work is one of four similar views of the plain of Gennevilliers, just southeast of Argenteuil, which Monet executed in the summer of 1875. He first painted the subject two years earlier in the celebrated Poppies near Argenteuil (Musée d'Orsay, Paris).
I dream of one day viewing his work in person in a French museum. Until then, you can also beautify your electronics as I have, and download the image file below. Enjoy!
